We are proud to announce that the Shubert Book Translations in Papiamento are available for download! These books are wonderful tools to teach children how to deal with situations like making new friends, dealing with their own upset, seeing the best in others and being a S.T.A.R. Develop to Grow spearheaded this translation along with a group of volunteers to make the text available in Papiamento, Aruba’s local language. A comment on my title, I’m pretty sure, after the reading some chapters of the book, that it is very important as a parent to realize that discipline means teaching. Then you think of so many gentle methods that do not involve belts, smacks, yelling, threatening or any other method that is not communicating, reasoning or sharing. According to Becky, these are all fear or control based approaches, which will get to some extent the desired effect, quiet compliant children, but at what price?
